Virginia Marriage Bonds in Hinshaw Quaker Encyclopedia Vol 6?

Wm Wade Hinshaw's Encyclopedia of American Quaker Genealogy Vol 6 includes at the back extensive records of marriage bonds for Campbell and Bedford counties in Virginia. For those with an Ancestry account for their edition of this, these indexes begin on page 795.

I see no indication that these are Quaker marriage bonds...this appears to be for everyone in the counties in the years covered. Their inclusion here is leading some to believe all of these marriage bonds are for Quakers but I don't see that is the case. This edition of Vol VI does not give indication one way or the other. People included in these indexes are not found in Quaker meeting minutes. Does anyone know if these are simply indexes of all marriage bonds in the counties for the included years in surviving records?

They appear to be mixed records.  My Quaker McPherson families are listed.  Also, my Wooldridge family who were not Quakers are listed.

I was wondering about this too. The Ancestry record needs to specify that these may not be Quakers.

Correct Greta, there was only one Quaker Church in Bedford to my knowledge, it's very small, has a Cemetery. I've provided   list of minister's affiliations in comments below.
Thanks Sherrie! :)

It's free on Hathi.  Link to space page with links and suggested citations.

The table of contents calls these sections  "Marriage Bonds of Campbell County" and "Marriage Bonds of Bedford County" so you are correct they are not exclusively Quaker records.

Speculation.  The introduction states that Hinshaw died before publication of this volume, so perhaps he intended to do something else with these transcriptions and the compiler who finished volume 6 just threw them in?

For Hinshaw's Quaker Minutes noting Quaker marriages you need to access Goose Creek Monthly Meeting p 347-353; South River Monthly Meeting p 328, pp 315-327 also references Bedford. I think it's Volume 6, Virginia Yearly Meetings is first listed.
