The Scotland Project is hard at work improving profiles for our Scottish Ancestors and we would love you to join us!  The Project covers all things Scottish, so no matter what you interests are, there's a team waiting for you!

You'll begin with a journey down our new Tartan Trail (you can learn more about it here) where you'll not only improve and/or learn new skills, but will also meet new people and learn to work within an active, collaborative WikiTree community.  Once you've completed the Tartan Trail, you'll be invited to join other teams within the project that interest you.

Membership Information

If you are new to WikiTree and have not become a full member you will need to upgrade to Wiki Genealogist Level. Sign our Honor Code to receive your Wiki Genealogist badge, which is a necessity for editing profiles. Full details can also be found on the Scotland Project home page. This will also give you a time line of what to expect from the Tartan Trail.

To start your journey, post an ANSWER below!

Don't forget to add the Scotland tag to your profile page

I am interested in starting work on a team project, and have a long Scottish line that I tied into over the past 3 years.  I am new to team research, but have grown in my individual research creativity and would like to take the next step in genealogy research.  Russ Kruse.

HELP!   smiley

Have rec'd email re: signing up for G2G  ?

About all I can do is access WikiTree site and look for the names I am researching. I KNOW it has to be easier than this!

Thanks Amy

I also find it difficult to maneuver around this site.
I am new. Just take your time. There is a lot to take in.

ost questions are answered in the past its just finding them. Maybe a buddy system would help rather than the neddle in the haystack. Plenty of support when you ask!!
I’m not new to this site and still have problems in many areas on this site site.

Please add me to the project if possible.  I recently discovered Robert III Stewart-972 (King of Scotland) is supposedly my 18th great grandfather.

I can't believe how many ancestrial lines start in Scotland... even my very Swedish line male line starts in Montrose. I want to learn more.

Thanks.

I would be i interested in working with the Scotland Project. My Scots ancestors were transported in the 1600s to Maine & Massachusetts, later marrying into other Scots who came after them.

I have done a fair amount of study of this period and the events leading up to the battle with British and forced marches in the aftermath.

Count me in as part of the team!

I would like to join the Scotland project.  I have followed one great grandparent (Moore/More/Moir) back to Scotland and have reason to believe that another (Watson) goes back to Scotland too.  There is a possibility of more.
by Helen Ricardo G2G2 (2.0k points)
My grandfather was a Watson. Probably Scotch-Irish, arrived in Colonial America 1700’s.

I too have Innes family from Scotland. I don't see a tree linked to your profile - which part of Scotland do your Innes family hail from?

I took an Ancestry DNA test and results came back confirming that I was 55% Irish, not surprising since many of my ancestors came from Kilkenny. However, Ancestry recently refined their results, and now they show that I am 41% Scottish and only 20% Irish. This is surprising. I feel like I've been cut adrift, and 30 years of genealogical research has been for naught!  I have no confirmed Scottish ancestors that I know of, but a couple of brick walls that may reveal them.

Hello! I would like to join the Scotland project and follow the Tartan Trail to help "dig up" answers to ancestral questions in my and others pasts. A huge part of my DNA is tied to the ancient land of Alba and this is part of my quest to follow those trails and unearth the lost stories.

I'm very interested in all of my ancestry. I know nothing about when my Scottish ancestors came to America. I do know that Crawford is a very old name in Lanarkshire, but have no information of where I fit into the overall picture.
by Living Crawford G2G Crew (560 points)
I too have 'Craufurd' family connections. My 7th great grandmother was the daughter of Hew Craufurd of Jordanhill.
