Question

The Scotland Project is hard at work improving profiles for our Scottish Ancestors and we would love you to join us!  The Project covers all things Scottish, so no matter what you interests are, there's a team waiting for you!

You'll begin with a journey down our new Tartan Trail (you can learn more about it here) where you'll not only improve and/or learn new skills, but will also meet new people and learn to work within an active, collaborative WikiTree community.  Once you've completed the Tartan Trail, you'll be invited to join other teams within the project that interest you.

Membership Information

If you are new to WikiTree and have not become a full member you will need to upgrade to Wiki Genealogist Level. Sign our Honor Code to receive your Wiki Genealogist badge, which is a necessity for editing profiles. Full details can also be found on the Scotland Project home page. This will also give you a time line of what to expect from the Tartan Trail.

Hello, Whilst I live in London, my GG and family are from Newport on Tay and my maternal side from the islands. Add to that my paternal side came over from Fermanagh in the 1840's.

Hi!

I'm following my ancestors of Drummond and Nicholson clans. My dad recently took a DNA test and he was 40% Scottish descent! I'm so excited to dig more into the credible paths. I am new here but have a very active accurate Ancestry account. I'm grateful for any help and excited to help others!

I'm not sure if this will need to be a separate project or whathaveyou, however I'm trying to create records for farms/touns in the Cabrach in n/e Scotland in the hopes that from there I can try and build a resource to assist in locating ties to families and clans in the area. I've started looking from this direction as it has been the simplest way to locate Robertsons from my partners' side in the area.

I've started by creating free space profiles for Tamnaven and intend the same for Mains of Lesmurdie and Scurdague with the hope of creating or linking records for individual persons to the free space profiles.

Hi there I was born in Edinburgh and have lived all my life in West Lothian.  I have done a lot of research on Scottish records for my own tree and helping friends with their research journeys.

I have a lot of spare time as I am stuck at home a lot so if I can be of any help please let me know.  I am trying to work my way through my own profiles at the moment as I know some of these have been created from an old gedcom from my early research (like research I did 15 years ago when I was just teaching myself how to do my tree) so some of these profiles have a lot of newbie mistakes such as abbreviated place names etc.

Anyway if I can help with the Project please let me know.
