What does 895 Using Deprecated parameter in template mean?

I have been trying to fix suggestions for some ancestors, profiles created by someone else. I think this must be something to do the sticker on the profile page

Stickers for Veterans has links to all war template pages.  Each parameter name is required, so that template needs unit= In front of 1st.  Looking at the template and the information that you have, hopefully, you can add the rank, branch, etc information.

He was a captain in the militia, and a volunteer as they all were, I can't find any reference to smaller units, or branches.

His group of soldiers was called Captain McClellan's Company. Much later in war of 1812 after his death it was called the 4th company

Would it be better to take out the 'of' between regiment and Lincoln

Do you know where the Category Builder Icon is in the icon list above the Biography area?  It looks like some steps, just before the 'C'.

Selecting that I entered War of 1812 Canada, it showed lots of 1st regiment, scrolling down I found Lincoln, so selecting that will put the Category entry into the profile.  Using that information as the Unit name in the template because that will generate the category automatically and you don't need to include the category in your profile, add the rank=Captain, branch=Canada (the explanation says service branch or country)

each parameter has to be put in separately with the parameter name.  I added some info from the biography so the sticker has more.  There were some dates in the bio, so I used those.  The unit becomes the category, so units= can be a duplicate with more info, if needed, so it is included in the sticker.  Hope you like it.  If you look at the Changes Log or the sticker in Edit mode, you will see the changes that I made to it.

I had the same problem as M Ross in two profiles that I adopted.  You give an excellent explanation about how to resolve this. It took me two or three tries to get the regiments to display. I hope these are now fixed. Thank you.
