On Geneanet, everything concerning contact between family researchers and their data is free, including DNA analysis (not much is happening yet).

Genealogy Library

- 3,621,932,037 individuals

- 3,158,901 graves

- 72,853 war memorials

- 437,383 postcards

- 32,587,625 archival registers

- 109,380,302 indexed individuals

- The Genealogy Library gives access to hundreds of thousands documents indexed for genealogy research.

Only the content produced by Geneanet itself or obtained from other databases is subject to a fee. When you see a list of results (when doing a search or subscribing to a permanent search), you can see this by the icons. Results from other people are marked with a tree and the respective account name, computer results show a database icon and it says "cogn..." as "user" below it, that is a computer; or a library icon.
The library also contains some French database resources.

The site is available in several languages. On the left side below you can select them.

Happy genealogy research!

While you are exploring Geneanet look at the reporting features from family trees. There are some really nice options. Charting is especially nice, and quite amazing if you are looking at multiple descents from one individual.
