can you insert a photo into the bio/source box in a profile?

Yes you can on the profile you are working on click on the image on the right hand side of the profile on the next page on the right side near the bottom you will see use inside text just copy and paste the code below that. It will look something like this {{Image|file=Murphy18607.jpg |align=r|size=m|caption=Here's an image.

Where it says align you can change that buy changing r to l for left or c for center.

Where it says size you can change that to small buy changing m to s

And last caption= post what ever you want

You can also post images "inline" by using the square brackets [[ code, thusly (copy and paste the code into a profile, then hit preview - you don't need to save) :

This is to show [[Image:ADWP-227.png|30px|Sailing ship silhouette.]] images between text.

[[Image:Military_Badges_and_Insignia-1.jpg|20px|Remembrance Poppy]] This person passed away of war related causes . . . using this statement to show an image used as a bullet point.

[[Image:ADWP-831.png|50px|Whovian Producer]] (insert name here) was one of those who operated a camera on the television show Doctor Who.

With the square brackets, the text after the pipe and before the closing brackets ]] acts as alt text.  The square brackets allow for alignment as well.  You just don't get the caption beneath the image.
