Looking for Civil War soldier's military record

I've been unsuccessful locating any military record for this Civil War soldier,  who lived in Georgia.    Looked mainly on the National Park's Service Site,  both CSA and Union,  without luck.

His records use the names   Kay Watkins and E.K. Watkins.  Family records say full name is Emele Kay Watkins.    Family records also say he died while in service in the Civil War.

Any help greatly appreciated!

Yes,

I haven't started adding all his children yet..... but that's a great record to have since Calvin Kay Watkins was born after the 1860 census.

Thanks Marion!

Susan,

This is incredible information to follow up on.    The New York connection isn't as far fetched as you'd think,  since another realtive has a strange New York connection with a Civil War Pension.

I'm definitely excited to look into this,   but the Source-A-Thon has me a bit distracted until Monday.

Thanks so much for your great research.

Peggy

P.S.

I finally had a minute to look into this record.   It probably isn't the Georgia soldier,   but it was certainly worth checking.   Thanks for giving me this information!
