Cemeteries in Simsbury

While working on my One Place Study of Simsbury, Connecticut I have seen reference to several cemeteries that I have not seen a reference to either in Wiki Tree or Find A Grave.

Jewish Cemetery.

Pleasant Cemetery.

Russell Cemetery (next to road east of Simsbury Cemetery).

Town Farm Cemetery (between Simsbury and Tariffville).

Vale Cemetery.

They are all referenced by the Connecticut Society of Genealogists on this page:

Does anyone have any added information about any of these cemeteries?

Right now it does not look like there is any categories for Cemeteries in Simsbury, Connecticut.

They can be added by you or someone that has more experience then me at adding categories. Just be sure to link them to the cemeteries categories page.

There are some cemeteries in Simsbury that have been categorized. They are found under the Hartford County Cemeteries listing. Among them are Simsbury Cemetery and St. Bernard Cemetery.

I googled cemeteries for that area and Russell Cemetery is listed with an address and a phone number. 162 Main St, Russell, MA at 413-862-4400. Although this doesn’t look like the Russell you are looking for. There is also the Simsbury Cemetery Association at 16 Plank Hill Rd, Simsbury, CT at 860-658-5582.

It is not surprising to find that small private cemeteries are not listed. That’s where photographs start to help as well as some confirmations from the local area that the names you have aren’t just a different name that hasn’t been used in a while.

Finally, it is easy to set these up but it is preferred that you have an identified profile that is located in that cemetery before it gets set up. If you identify that profile, I would be happy to set it up for you.

Thank you for the help. Right now I am just trying to identify the cemeteries for my Simsbury One Place Study and don't have any profiles that I am building for these cemeteries.

I have a feeling that some of the cemeteries might be old cemeteries located on farms. I'm just trying to follow-up on the information of the cemeteries listed by the Connecticut Genealogical Society.

I did find a web page that lists a Pleasant Vale Rural Cemetery at 20 Ox Yoke Drive in Simsbury. That might refer to both the Pleasant Cemetery and the Vale Cemetery.
