Is there a way to use the "relationship finder tool" to show multiple lines of descent?

Specifically working with French-Canadian genealogy, but I'm sure this happens elsewhere - I have a lot of "repeat ancestors" in my tree. When I do a "direct relationship" line, only one line of descent shows up, even though I know that I also have 2-3 other lines of descent from that person. There are some that I know fairly well (for example, I know that I am descended from Marie-Anne Esther D'Annese through both of my French-Canadian great-great-grandparents via Marie-Josephte Tourangeau, Jacques Tourangeau, and Louis Drouillard), but I'm curious about finding other tangled threads. Is the "Connection Finder" the best tool for this?

Ancestor Listmaker will do exactly what you want, but you will have to change your privacy setting from Private to Private With Public Tree in order for the app to "see" your tree. (You can change it back immediately afterwards of course, if you want.)

On the app's original screen, if you check "Show number of lines to same ancestor (if multiple lines of descent)", the list of ancestors generated will include a number after the ancestor's name showing how many different lines of descent you have from that ancestor. And if you click the relationship finder icon to the right of the ancestor's name, it will show you all the different lines of descent.

I think you will have to enter the wiki-ID for each person you want to test and then make a screeen shot of the line of descent for each person.

That is what I do. For the relationship finder.

The connection finder OTOH already has multiple lines available - there is a pull down menu box at or near the bottom of the page that allows you to test lines of connection to others in your tree.

The first one that comes up is always the shortest line of connection.

You may get a different line of descent by using another family member on the 'Relationship to Me'. When you use it if you scroll down past your line of descent there is a box on the left that will tell you how many connections there are between you and that person. When you start clicking on the different names listed it will give you different lines of descent.
