There is many sources that indicate that John Wingfield (died 1481) and his wife Elizabeth FitzLewis had two sons named John and both survived to adulthood, but they have been amalgamated on WikiTree into one profile. The fact that they both died in 1509 means they are easily confused.
Some sources indicating they are two different men - the will of their mother, names Sir John and John the Younger. The Visitations of Norfolk, p. 315 also indicate two sons named John, and that the eldest married Ann (Touchet) dau of Lord Audley, and the younger (fourth son) married Margaret Dorward (currently they are first and second wife on the WikiTree profile).
The Visitation of Suffolk 1561, p. 80 again names two sons called John, and the son and heir of the eldest was Sir Anthony Wingfield. The article about Dunham Magna Manor in An Essay towards a Topographical History of the County of Norfolk, Vol. 9 names John the Younger and his wife Margaret Dorward, and that their son and heir was Thomas Wingfield.
Although the current profile for the amalgamated John Wingfield cites various Richardson volumes, I suspect that the website by Marlyn Lewis has been viewed and not any of the Richardson books, and Marlyn has the two men confused, but is someone able to check Richardson please?
Otherwise I propose that the current profile is split into two.
