Incorrect tree based on patronymics

I am not pre-1500 qualified, but Gunnarsson-227 father can't be Tjostel Ivarsson Harlidstad (Harlidstad-4) based on patronymics. His father's first name should be Gunnar Ivarsen Sandbu and his grandfather should be Ivar Tjøstolvsen Sandbu according to the following websites.

I was wondering if someone can fix this. Thank you!

Nice catch. I'm not very comfortable with pre-1500 work, which for most Norwegian profiles is rather murky, but I'll see what I can do.

Are Tjøstel Ivarsson Harildstad and Tjøstolv Ivarsson Sandbu identified as one or two distinct persons? There seems to be a possible conflation here.

Thank you for disconnecting it. That seems to be the perfect solution! This wikitree line does appear "rather murky" pre-1500. The names keep repeating, making me think they were mixed together.

It wasn't unusual for a Hans Olsen to be succeeded by his son Ole Hansen, and then the next Hans Olsen, and so on for many generations. The first-born son was invariably called after his paternal grandfather.
