I accidentally created a couple of duplicates. Can a manager please merge Seaman-2270 with Seamans-118?

You can propose the merge, then the manager will approve it. Anyone can do the actual merge.

In using the Book The Seamans Family in America as Descended from Thomas Seamans of Swansea, Massachusetts, 1687, I am referencing two separate duplicates I created.
The first is Page 9. #31 John Seamans (John 4, Thomas 1)b. Oct. 4, 1728 at Swansea, Mass., d. May 10, 1813 at Clarendon, Vt., m to Patience Hopkins b. in 1734 d. May 1, 1791 buried in Chippenhook Cemetery, at West Claredon, Vt., they resided at Scituate, R.I., Killingly, Conn., and Claredon, Vt.
John Seamans served in Lieut. Angell's Co. in 1756; (Page 10.) was made Lieut in 4th Co. June 1762
The Second is(son of John Seamans #31)page 24, #117 John Seamans (John 31, John 4, Thomas 1,)b. in 1748/50 at Swansea, Mass. d. in 1838 at Eaton, Madisin CO., N.Y., m in 1779 to sarah Wescott, b. in 1750, d. in 1840. John and Sarah settled on a farm near Waterford, N.Y., he was a soldier in the Revolutionary War, present at the surrender of Gen. Burgoyne on Oct. 17, 1777. After the war he served in the 6th. Duchess County Regiment, for the defense of the Hudson. Resided at Starkborough, Vt., Waterford and Eaton, N.Y.
On Wikitree the Duplicate ID's are as follows:
Duplicate 1
Under John Seamans Seamans-43 Father of:
John Seamans(Suffix) Lieutenant. Seaman-2271 created 6 October 2020
b.4 Oct 1728 d. 10 May 1815
Merge with:
John Seamans. Seamans-44 Created 25 April 2013
On profile Seamans-44 the(Duplicate shows as Brother of: Seamans Lieutenant).
...
Duplicate 2
From Seamans-44, go to, Father of John Seamans: Seamans-118 created 19 October 2015. b. about 1749 d. about 1838
Merge with:
John Seaman(Suffix)Patriot Seaman-2269 created 6 October 2020
b.11 November 1794 d. 10 April 1870
Note: See The Seamans Family in America as Descended from Thomas Seamans of Swansea, Massachusetts, 1687 page 24 #117 John Seamans for the birth and death information on Wikitree profile Seamans-44 (as noted above in this letter).
I hope this clears up the confusion.
Best regards,
John von Holstein

I can’t merge because I’m a Rookie and not yet a “Trusted Member” of this group.
What you will need to do is initiate the merge and then the other profile manager can then complete the merge.
No, that's not it.  It all has to do with the Profile Manager of Seamans-118, who has to approve the merge before it can take place.  A member of the profile's Trusted List can also do this, but this has nothing to do with your status as a rookie. Only the PM can add someone to the Trusted List.

The Unmerged Matches won't do any good in this situation.  They will just prevent the merge.

What you need to do is remove Unmerged Matches and then click "Initiate a Merge".  Since you are the PM for Seaman-2270, the system will automatically record your approval for the merge.  THEN someone from S-118's list will have to approve the merge.

If no one from S-118's list approves the merge you will have to wait 30 days for the system to record a "Default Approval".

Then, and only then, can the merge take place.
I removed them.
OK, now scroll down to the bottom of the profile to PENDING MERGES and click "initiate a merge"
I have proposed merge for both. Once merge is complete I will check to see if there are more duplicates leading down to Alice Seaman Kirley.

It said I could not initiate merge but, could propose merge.

Thanks for the help, by the way.
Initiate and propose are supposed to be essentially the same thing.

Anywayhow, I can see it's been done.  Now a notice should go to the PM of S-118, who is active lately, to approve.
