i found why i am not getting email from wikitree.  it's not really coming from wikitree.com.  instead, it's coming from amazonses.com which, as an Amazon AWS customer, i know, is the Amazon AWS SMTP outbound domain.  unfortunately, they could run these servers just about anywhere on the million plus servers in North America.  i can't put that many addresses in my list.  i'll have to figure another way like something that reliably checks that domain.  AWS does not allow spammers on SES and takes the issue seriously, so that should be a workable check.

They should still have consistent SPF and DMARC records, though, regardless of which servers are actually sending the mail.

i was trying to separate them from junk mail that gmail still lets through with gmail's limited filtering.  i've moved the email to a domain i receive through AWS myself.  i don't do the SMTP receiving, but i get most of that info from extra records.  i'm studying what's best to filter on this way and then i can archive everything.  i don't have outbound set up for this domain and hopefully i won't need to.
