So from Family Search we have listed our Robert Smith as the son of Son of Robert Smith and Mary (Calthorpe) Smith.

A note on the Family Search page reads:

"His line given in Adventurers of Purse & Person by John Dorman, 4th ed, vol 2, p. 529. There seems to be no further mention of him, so it's possible he died young."

I just found him on Geni and it lists his fathers name as William Smith.  ( https://www.geni.com/people/Robert-Smith/6000000000608676932 )

Just looking for any information and sources we can add to the profile to show connections to his parents, wife and children.

This may not help with identifying the correct parents but may help with the spouse and children's profiles.

The Genealogy, com reference in the Smith profile indicates that Robert and his family were in Washington CO., VA about 1829. Robert Smith is a very common name but perhaps the 1790, 1800, 1810, 1820 and 1830 Virginia census, particularly Washington Co and along the [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wilderness_Road wagon road] they would have taken in migrating to Indiana (1830 and 1840 census).

I added the Southern Colonies, and Indiana tags to your G2G post which may attract other project members to the post.  I will also post a msg in the Google SoCol board in hopes that one of our knowledgeable members will have the time to contribute a relevant source or additional information.
