Hello, I am new to WikiTree. I am working on DAR and Mayflower certificates (George Soule and possible Richard Warren) for our family. I have hit a brick wall with my great grandmother, Carrie Estelle Deuel Shaw Hensley ( 22 Jan 1888 - 1 Sep 1920). She was born in Nashville, MO. I need to prove her parents are William Allen Deuel (10 Jun 1854/55 - 5 Oct 1921) born in Shirland, Winnebago, IL and Alice Louisa Robb Carson Deuel (29 Sep 1860 - 01 Aug 1888) born in Cameron, Warren, IL. I cannot find a birth certificate for Carrie or her mother Alice. Carrie’s marriage certificates do not show her parents. I am waiting to receive her death certificate to see what it says. I cannot find an obituary or will for either of her parents. William died in Shirland, Winnebago, IL and her mother, Alice, may have died in Crawford, Crawford, KS, but we are not sure. I can’t find a grave marker for her at all. I have notes that indicate she may have been living with her Mother, Keziah Medhurst Robb Row when she died of cholera, after only one day with the disease. She and William may have been separated at the time. After Alice’s death Carrie was sent to IL to live with her Grandparents. I have been told she was with Gideon and Emma Bowen Deuel (William’s parents), but I find her in the 1900 census living with the Fullers as a boarder. I believe the Fullers were the parents of William’s first wife, Alice Elizabeth McKee, Sarah DeLavergne and her second husband, Joseph Fuller. By the 1910 census Carrie is married to Lloyd Milton Hensley. Any help anyone can give me will be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance! Pat D
