''Error: Invalid data. The following must be corrected: Permission Denied''

Question

When trying to merge the two profiles for Lois Naomi Sickafoose, I keep getting the above error message with no indication as to what needs to be done. This has never happened before. I donot know how to remedy this, or go around it. Thanks for your help.

ETA: That is strange, because I see both PMs have agreed on the merge and the system shows it approved to merge.

The other profilé's manager initiated the merge! And the other profile is also green. Both managers have approved ( i being one of them), and both profiles are green. All is in perfect order, it would seem. Approval from WikiTree is also given to go ahead and merge. But at the moment i press upon ''Complete Merge'', i get that error message. :(

Has the other PM attempted to complete the merge?

I donot think so, as he was waiting for me to approve the merge and go ahead with it.

Since neither profile is open, you should ask the other PM to add you to the Trusted List. The Privacy tab has a link that you can click to make the request. That should make it possible for you to merge the profiles.

I shall ask him to add me to the Trusted List. Perhaps that might help. But this was never needed in the past. I have done many merges, where i was only on the Trusted List of one of the two profiles to be merged. Also, yesterday i successfully merged the two profiles of Lois's husband, Walter Starkweather. I was not on the Trusted List of the other profile. Both profiles were ''Green''.

You could try having both of you change the privacy level to Open - that might work, and after the merge you could always change it back again.

I asked to be added to the other profiles TRUSTED LIST, and then tried again to complete the merge, and it worked!
