Kenneth, to find your ancestors (and use your DNA to help) it would be a good idea to start by entering profiles for your parents to WikiTree. On your profile click on the link that says [father?] and add what you know about your father, his birth date and where he was born, his death date and location if he's no longer living. Then do the same for your mother. Once you have profiles for them, in the same way add profiles for each of their parents, your grandparents. As you build your tree, WikiTree will add your DNA test information to your ancestors' profiles (so any cousins who see the profile will know that you have a DNA test on Ancestry they may match). Then look to see if any of your Ancestry DNA matches have trees that include any of your ancestors.

First I would link your DNA to your Wiki ID.

Next, I would upload my raw DNA to GedMatch.com.

Hello Kenneth. Do you mean you don’t know how to link to your DNA test from your WikiTree profile, or you don’t know how to interpret the results?

Kenneth,

Here's a good place to start. Once you have your tree set up see: How to Get Started with DNA

If you're having difficulty with any of the WikiTree help documentation, try to point out where you need more help.

First, take a look at the following WikiTree Help Page links that are specific to your question....

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:DNA

https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Help:How_to_Get_Started_with_DNA

... But in short, you don't just simply upload it to WikiTree itself as WikiTree utilizes a (trusted) 3rd party that links the applicable DNA information via the following GEDmatch link (registration there is required and its Free).

http://v2.gedmatch.com/login1.php:

You then just follow their instructions to upload your DNA file and then you just have to add your GEDmatch ID info within the WikiTree DNA Tests page to link them.

Issues regarding GedMatch is not managed by WikiTree, but GedMatch themselves.

If the above links nor GedMatch is helpful at all, the following answer provided within a similar/same question (asked within the WikiTree G2G forum) is probably your best bet to figure out what's going on.

https://www.wikitree.com/g2g/376777/gedmatch-is-impossible-to-use-are-they-doing-it-deliberately?show=380477#a380477

I do wish you the best of luck! :-)
