False parents of Alice (Atwood???) Mullins?

The profile of Alice, wife of William Mullins, currently show the maiden name Atwood.  This alleged maiden name is without basis, according to Caleb Johnson's Mayflower site at http://mayflowerhistory.com/mullins-william/  In addition, the NEHGR's list of Mayflower passengers doesn't give any maiden name for Alice; see http://www.americanancestors.org/who-came-on-the-mayflower-pt2/

Alice's profile currently has a fantasy ancestry connecting to the Grenville family, with royal and Magna Carta ancestors.  If nobody objects, I would like to disconnect these imaginary parents and add a note on Alice's profile.

John, you're doing some great work on these profiles. Some of those you're working on, including this one, makes me wonder how active WikiTree's Mayflower Project is. I know you're working on the royalty/Magna Carta links back up the line but I'm surprised by the state that some of these Mayflower profiles are in.

I'm glad you're bringing these issues to our collective understanding. Thanks.
I noticed that Alice's last name had been changed back and forth between Atwood and Unknown too many times. It was on Atwood at that time. I put up the "DO NOT CHANGE THE LAST NAME NOTICE" at the top of the free form section. I did not feel at that time I had a strong case for either Atwood or Unknown. Changing the name again just did not seem like a good idea at that time.  I use as additional references for the "Unknown", the Mayflower 5 Generations and Anderson's GMB.

If no one has a problem with changing the name back to Unknown (and loosing the change hiustory), I will do it.

Another way to keep the name from changing by merge is to remove most of the others on the trusted list. In my experience this isn't a good idea. It makes people angry.
Looks like it got changed. I project protected it so it will require a Leader to merge away. Then no one has to be dropped from the trusted list.

The change history is still avilablr-- just not all on the same page.

Please disconnect them. There should be a reference to fraudlent ancestry in her biography. Please add such a reference if it isn't already there.

But after disconnecting Alice, what happens to the fantasy ancestors?  Are they just left lying around?

One of them was born when her parents were over 100.
We do have a template for the questionable existence of someone -- {{questionable}}

but that only applies to people who are likely not to have existed at all.

In any case a note should be added to the profile of the persons who have been disconnected pointing out that the speculation that they were parents of a known person remains unfounded, so that they won't be re-attached (hopefully).
I wonder if we need a fraudulent template:

This person is the subject of a fraudulent genealogy. See narrative for details.
