Father of Adam and Walter Cunningham of Shenandoah County, Virginia?

Hello all,

After seeing this family presented in a very fantastical form on WT earlier today I've had a quick tidy of the several conflated lines of Scots-Irish Cunninghams who are claimed to be ancestral to the immigrants Adam and Walter Cunningham.  They weren't descendants of the Earls of Glencairn nor were they a younger branch of the so-called Cunninghams of Manor Cunningham.  This leaves us only with their supposed parents: Thomas Cunningham and Jeanie Ballentine of Knocknashane and/or Shankill, co. Armagh, but I see nothing even vaguely like primary evidence here.  Is anyone aware of proof of the Irish parish of origin for these brothers?  Otherwise I'm inclined to pare this pedigree back even further.  My suspicion is that we actually have no idea where the brothers immigrated from to Virginia.

All the best,

Kelsey

As stated in the sources section.... it's recorded on the Cunningham Family Bible. For that time period - that is considered a Primary Source. I would appreciate you not paring back this family further.

Thanks, Terri.  Could you possibly post a transcription of the relevant passages from the Bible and details of its provenance?
