One of my ancestral lines s Dancy/Dancey from Ireland, and I know from both documentary research/evidence, and DNA that they have genealogical and genetic connections to Dancy/Danceys in Canada,and the US (primarily through emigration from Ireland, but also, with the early Virginia and North Carolina settlers, possibly via emigration from England and Ireland. Recently (before Ancestry raised the DNA match threshold to 8 cM and above), I and my 3 Irish Dancey cousins were also getting matches that seemed to connect to those descended from Dancey's in south Gloucestershire, (closer to Bristol) England, and I have matches to apparent Kent England Dancy descendants and there are some documents confirming Kent Danceys). To be clearer as to how genuine these matches are (rather than false positives) does any one else with known Dancey/Dancy ancestry have such matches? Is anyone willing to informally collaborate on this? (I wasn't thinking of a formal group within the Wikitree community)
