URL in One Place Study sticker?

+8 votes

There's one thing that I've been missing with the One Place Study sticker: a link to the "home page" of the project, which in my case is the "Solum, Telemark, Norway One Place Study".

As an experiment, I added the normal <a href>..</a> code to the sticker, which didn't work. But adding the URL with normal Wiki code, ie. {{One Place Study|place=[https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Solum,%20Telemark,%20Norway%20One%20Place%20Study Solum, Telemark, Norway]|category=Stavdal, Solum, Telemark, Norway}} works just fine.

Before I start adding this code to all my OPS stickers, I just have to ask if it's considered "legal"?

Edit: Removed link to example profile, which is now obsolete thanks to Aleš' excellent solution.

This would be the correct usage if the Space page would be named Space:Solum, Telemark, Norway Place Study

{{One Place Study
|place= Solum, Telemark, Norway
|category= Stavdal, Solum, Telemark, Norway

I think "One" is no longer used in space page name.

I don't quite see how this is an answer to my question. Yes, I know the current syntax for the sticker template. I've been using it daily for two years.

I figured that an URL to the OPS' home page embedded in the sticker might be an improvement, as the sticker is currently mostly bling. The One Name Study sticker has an embedded URL, so why not OPS stickers too?

Yesterday, I Corrected the sticker to link to page Space:{{{place}}}_Name_Study if that page exists.

Now I added a link also to page Space:{{{place}}}_One_Name_Study if that page exists.

In Examples on template page https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Template:One_Place_Study you can now see the links.
Wow, thank you very much! This is an excellent solution. Very much appreciated.
