Catherine is my great grandmother born on 15 August, 1880 in Dunblane, Scotland. She apparently came out to Australia by ship in 1885? She married Christian Anton Christiansen in Brisbane, Queensland on 16 February 1898. They had 3 daughters, one of whom was killed in a tram accident in Brisbane. She died in Bundaberg, Queensland on 25 February 1916. I know nothing of her from when she arrived in Australia to when she died, apart from the above details. She may have had sisters Mary Ann (1885-?) and Maggie (1889-?). I have no pictures of any of them. I'd appreciate any help, thank you.

Hi Leanne,

Just a thought there is a Scottish surname group on facebook and I know some of them are in Australia. Their purpose is to compare DNA through GED match and they have a sub program that matches only Scotts. You might find some cousins that way.  GED match has several ancestral projects snd so does family tree Dna.
Thanks Sherry, I'll check it out, hopefully will find something.

Oh, I was just in the Scottish surname group and they said you have to join the GED ancestors project. The one I mentioned is New Zealand more than Australian but The Scotland DNA group mentions Australia. They are under Ancestor projects NEW and below the form they list the projects alphabetically.

Thanks Sherry, after your previous message I joined the Scottish surname group. It was pending and I haven't had a chance to check back in ywt, but I will! Thanks again.
