info please on mackay ancestors inverness shire

hello researchers. I truly am baffled and frustrated with researching my mackay ancestors further back., heres hoping someone else feels the same about this family. I can go back as far as john -mackay, married marjorie macbean, who had 8 known children.   the one i am particularly interested in is valentine-mackay, born 6/10/1784 cawdor,died 13/5/1865 ardclach, married jane mcintosh born about 1786 died about 1851/59?      i have 5 known children for them,  and one being david  born 15/10/1825 ardclach, died 26/4/1900 in the poorhouse -LORN, which i beleive is argyll-shire,   Most of the info on him was given to me by the  genealogist in the inverness archives. Seemingly david married a catherine mckenzie??  And one of their children being my grt/grndad,  john-mackay ,born 22/5/1864,,died 13/8/1921 inverness, who married  29/3/1902 jessie -campbell,,,they lived 1901 ,rose-street-inverness. i don/t know when David/Catherine married,or when catherine was born or died??   also  i was given grn/dad johns, birthlines, which show his parents as David/catherine,, also on john/s marriage certificate,it shows david/catherine,,,,yet on the death-certificate it shows,  Alexander mackay /caroline mckenzie???     VERY-STRANGE,,,, could we be researching the wrong  parents of our john -mackay,   Can anyone find time to look into this lot please??/    perhaps you can email helen.finlayson44@ gmail.com

hi frank. had a look at this again,and wondered why oh why is it showing as mckay,and not mackay,which is on the gravestone. my grt/grndad was john mackay born 22.5 1864 kilmorack. could there be another john mckay perhaps with same birthdate,  i came across david mckay born 15/10/1825 ardclach nainshire,whose parents were valentine mckay,i think 1784, wife jane mcintosh, who did this david marry??  i wonder if it was catherine  mckenzie, perhaps its an error in spelling mackay, another query i have on my family tree.new  email now.
