Pvt. William W. Bell enlisted at the age of 19 on August 13, 1862 in Oswegatchie, New York as a private in the 106th New York Regiment Company A. He died of Quick Consumption October 6, 1862 at New Creek, Virginia. It appears he died immediately after enlisting within months.

We need help finding more sources for him and connecting his parental genealogy.

Here is his Find A Grave

Should place of death be New Creek West Virginia? Or Virginia ?

Thank you

Thank you

This matches the 1850 census family with Sally Bell mentioned which names his likely father as a Milo L. Bell

I wonder why mother filed the pension years after his death?
The death record of widow Sally (Robinson) Bell has a reference ID, maybe the actual cert will have more info ? ie. spouses name

I’m sure this is his brother and his family from New York moved to Michigan sometime after the war
Yes, it matches the 1880 census location and death location of Sally and Milo.
