Need Help with Data Doctor 885 Using Top Level category Help (Difficulty: Advanced)

Question

I came across an 885 Need help correcting and this is beyond my skill set. Can a Data Doctor please correct this on profile for Munson-459 (Timothy Munson)? Thank you!

All fixed.  A couple problems are causing this.  They changed the 1776 'sticker' to 1776 Sticker, so the work 'Sticker' has to be added to it.  When only the Category was included, it made it a Project Box, which they are no longer using.  

Reviewing the profile, it had the needed information that was needed.  The new Sticker has Rank, which the profile showed was Private.  The unit is the more difficult part, but using the Category Builder icon, which is the next to last icon above the Biography text area, entered American Revolution, 6th regiment, showed me 2 years 1775 and 1777 and he was in 1777, so I selected that.  That put the Category line in the profile.  That category information is what is needed with the unit parameter.

If you look at the profile, hopefully that will make more sense to you.

Thanks Linda! Now I'll know for next time! I put the old sticker on and forgot that we have the new one! I'll check out what you did so I know what to do next time. I think this is the change that SJ made and I'm sure I'll personally have a few more family members with this issue.  Again, thanks!

Glad it helped. Yes, it was what SJ had posted about. Just play around with that category builder to try to find a regiment that matches.  If not, you can make your best attempt but the category or military team might have to fix it. I think most of the states have a 'state' militia, replacing that with the actual state, and adding American Revolution at the end, which shows up with the builder.  I usually start with that in that box and put the state or regiment in for the of it.
