Ivor, no one's ancestor photos show up at that level of their tree. You have not done anything wrong and there's nothing you can do to make them show up.
If you have information to add and sources for that information, I personally see no problem with you adding it to the profile. You might add one bit of sourced information and see what response you get. If no objections are registered you might add a little more.
If you haven't already, submit a request to be added to the Trusted Lists of your ancestors who already have profiles on WikiTree. That will be important if you ever need to submit an unresponsive manager request. Will is correct--it's a little early to do that, but there are some things you should have done before you submit the unresponsive manager request. You might want to review this page so you'll know what you should have done before taking that drastic step. Hopefully, you will get a response soon so that you and the manager can work together to build a really nice profile for your common ancestor.
