Hi All,

The profile for Margaret (Fitzalan) Collingridge cites Frederick Lewis Weis's "Magna Charta Sureties 1215".  Can someone who can check this publication to see what it has to say (with primary source references if available) about Margaret and her husband  John (Collingridge-3)?  Any other source information about this couple would be equally welcome.

Thanks in anticipation,

Chris.

That publication is searchable on Ancestry.com (with membership). I searched for Margaret FitzAlan, Collinridge and Collingridge and got no result.

And nothing in the 1999 printed 5th edition either
Thank you Traci and Michael for kindly checking that out for me.  I'll update the profile accordingly.

Richardson (under HOWELL) pointedly says nothing about the parents of Bartholomew, he doesn't even call them John and Margaret.

But at best she's Margaret Unknown.  The FitzAlan bit was put in by a pedigree-monger trying to explain the known fact that the Dormers were descended from a FitzAlan heiress.  But it turned out the marriage was in the next generation.

Thank you RJ.  Yes I was looking at Batholomew Collingridge and the Dormer connection, because of a supposed daughter Ursula, a few days ago.  I think we're getting there.
