The pending merge on this profile is ready to be completed, just wanted to stop by and pop it back up on the radar. Thanks much, Sarah

This pending merge is between a profile w/ an approx. date of 1505 and one of 1475, so me with my tiny pre-1700 certification can't do anything about it, but its marked as default approval by the WikiTrees, so if anyone could take care of this profile and get it off the pending merges list, that would be great!

Sarah, I want to point out to you (in case you or others that may see this post aren't aware) that just because a merge is marked as default approval, it doesn't mean that the merge should take place.  All it means is that it has been thirty days since the merge was suggested.  We would hope that people wouldn't automatically merge profiles just because they've gone to default without first researching.  Many default merges are not in fact for duplicate profiles...

There are possible duplicates for Thomas Denne also.  As John noted, there has been some discussion and a determination needs to be made before merges are completed.

Darlene,

Thanks for taking the time to answer this! I looked at this one and thought it was best for more experienced eyes to look at it, since the merge had been proposed in 2019 (!), and had been subject to multiple edits over the past year. I thought rather than setting it to an unmerged match, I'd throw a thread up to get some attention for it.

Hopefully that explains my rationale =)

Thanks again!

Sarah
Hi Sarah, I understand why you brought it up.  As to the possibility of setting it as an unmerged match, I would ask you not to do that.  These things literally get forgotten when that occurs.  I personally prefer that people involved in a merge (i.e. they are a PM or on the trusted list for a profile) do the research or post a comment on G2G seeking assistance with determining any conflicting data/parents as opposed to setting them as an unmerged match.

According to some of the comments on the profiles, the Last Name at Birth (LNAB) should be Unknown, and that change should take place before the merge happens, otherwise we end up with the multiple redirects problem.

However I'm not sure why the LNAB on the other profile of Wraith is incorrect, but it looks like there has been some discussion at some point.  I'll leave it up to others to decide.

It arose from the 1547 will of Margaret (Unknown) Naisshe's 1st husband William Naisshe and the will of her 2nd husband Thomas Denne (junior 1480/5-1552). Initially the married last name of her daughter Margaret Wraith (sic:Wright) had been wrongly ascribed to her. See
