I am having a problem with people merging incorrect information

Question

How do I get notified that someone is merging or changing one of the individual profiles I have done? I am often having people contact me or go and look at my tree to find someone has changed or merged information that is incorrect. I have gotten "no" notification that a merge or a change was happening. How do I make certain that I am notified before these incorrect changes are made? I believe there is a system in place to notify but it seems to only work sporatically   Ron McCoy

Could you post a profile for an example?

You should see a change in your watched list, for a profile you manage, with my user id next to it. Go to watched list, sort by edit date.

If you are profile manager you should have received  an email saying a merge has been proposed. You might like to check your spam folder.

As to changes, or additions as long as they give sources and reasons for the changes that is fine. It is nice if any major changes are discussed with you first. You can always check the changes tab to see what was done

One thing to remember is this is ONE world wide tree, and potentially hundreds (if not more) of people are connected to the profiles you manage.

I don't think that's the case if "merged" from an imported gedcom

Some of your profiles were made with another account. Maybe you merged your current account with the new one?

I am not sure if all the email addresses were correctly merges as well. If you do know a profile with a merge request (look in your merges list) and did not receive an e-mail about it, then please email info@ and explain your situation.
