When you log onto WikiTree, in principle, you have access to the whole “tree,” actually to the whole database, subject to a few privacy restrictions. [For example, you could add your parents and set the privacy level so only you could see them, and no one else.]
You can search for individuals by parameters you set on the search screen. The following options apply to the persons you select:
There are some limitations as to what you can see at any one time. If you are on a profile you will often, but not always, see buttons for ANCESTORS and DESCENDANTS. Clicking either one of these will show up to 5 generations of ancestors or descendants, if they are in WikiTree. On your profile, for example, these buttons do not appear because you are not yet connected to anyone.
Also, on a profile, if you click Family Tree & Tools, you will get several report options for ancestors or descendants. One of the options is the Compact Family Tree which will give up to 8 generations of ancestors.
If you want to see more, your option is to download a gedcom of ancestors or descendants. These are limited to 15 generations or 10,000 people.
You can also explore the “dynamic tree.” You can expand this (although I do not know if there are limitations), but you can only see what fits on your screen or monitor. You can scroll, however, to see other parts.
