This is just a quick note to introduce myself.
My name is Claire Douglas and I live in Devon in the UK. I have been interested in family history for ten years or so. I started from work that my parents had started in the 1980s and 1990s (including extensive work in various parish records). They are both still alive and I compare notes from time to time about some of the more difficult trails.
My direct ancestors seems to have been more or less entirely based in the UK or Ireland for the last couple of centuries, although I have quite a few relatives in other parts of the world (Italy, France, Spain, US, Canada, Australia). I have also done some work on my partner's family in Southern Africa and my ex-partner's family in various far-flung places in Africa, South East Asia and Australia.
