Help with a Smith Family in Scotland Please

Can anyone help please?  I am researching the ancestors of Robert Smith b.about 1782 and possibly dead before the 1841 census.  His wife was Jean Neil or sometimes referred to as McNeil b. abt 1785   The couple were married at Tranent E. Lothian in 1805-07-06

According to his daughter Margaret"s marriage records he was a shoemaker at Craighall, Inveresk, Midlothian.  I would love to find a birth and death for both him and Jean. Also the parents etc of both.  I have searched Familysearch and Scotlandspeople without much success

Thank you in anticipation.smiley
