I have been finding myself working on several lines lately that are in Denmark, Sweden,Holland, and maybe Iceland too..  Yes I would like to join... to monitor, and when possible to improve profiles.  I am too tired at the moment to go look up a bunch of names to share... although Rex or Gustaf Regnell comes to mind from last nights obsession.  He came from Sweden in the early 1900's, and married Edith Wall, whose grandparents family came over from Scotland.

Dear all,

Here is a fairly good document for tracing family lines in the northern part of Sweden. I have just managed to roll up a great part of my grandfathers ancestors from early 1800 back to year 1490.

If some of you should ending up with “Birkarlar” here is a trustworthy document explaining the concept.

I am man from Finland who is searching ancestors and cousins all around the world.

My earliest known paternal gf Erik Bragge died in Hiitola, Finland 1740. My earliest known maternal gm Reetta Kokko born in Yli-Ii, Finland 1687. I' d like to use DNA matches too. I have test from FT DNA: MtDNA full, Y-37 and familyfinder autosomal at.

I want to join in project Nordic and Finland

Hello all-

I'd like to join this project. Multiple branches of my maternal family can be traced to Norway, mostly in the Rogaland & Vest-Agder regions. I've already added quite a bit to my family, & am currently working on adding profiles to other people I've managed to confirm lived on the farms my families lived on (including Anda, Tengesdal, Nja & a few others), having been able to get some scans of bygdebok entries for a few of those farms, which I hope to add on to with other sources.
Most of my ancestors are Norwegian, some Danish. Its nice to find a project that covers this topics. If possible, join me in.
Can I join Finland Project? I am a new member.
Hi, I was really excited to see the Nordic Project.  All my life, I was told that I was French and Cherokee. When had my DNA tested I found out that I shared no Native American blood  LOL   As it turns out, much of my DNA is Scottish, Danish, Sweden and Finland.

I do enjoy WikiTree
Hi-Marie George here.....I am interested in all things Norwegian, but I have found that my oldest ancestors are from all over the place, Russia, Mecklenberg, Denmark, possibly Sweden, Belgium, the Netherlands and even France!!

Hello Marie George,

if you would like to join the Nordic Project, please join here:

I'm not sure what volunteering entails but am willing to try. I am American, 75% Norwegian and have done a lot of work taking many branches back as far as parish and other records go.

Hi, I would like to join the project.

I am working on transfering my own research to WikiTree (manually), and was redirected here when I wanted to add my mmmmmmmmmm, born 1670. Most of my ancestors are from Västerbotten, another line from Småland and a third from Dalarna. I have a special interest in the Bure family (as a member of the Rödå branch) and in early Sami settlers.

I must focus mainly on adding sources to my own posts for a while and learning the system here, but will gladly help others if asked.

I am familliar with the church records and other open sources on Riksarkivet and with elder handwriting.

I would like to join the Nordic project. I have 75% Norwegian ancestors, and the rest divided between Sweden and Denmark. I have done a pretty deep family tree and would love to contribute to Wikitree from it.

I can help with the Nordic project. My adoptive grandfather came to the US then Canada from the Telemark region of Norway. A quick search on the family name shows almost no one, when there are almost 1000 people in the world with the surname Dyrland. I will add my family line and then contribute to cleaning up other profiles (I know its harder with nordic profiles given the whole paternal/maternal naming conventions plus using farm names!)

Hi all in Norway project.

I have been interested in my family's history for a long time and started using pc tools and internet around 1995 and the geni.com website around 2012. Not too happy about geni I discovered WT half a year ago and immediately got interested in publishing my data there. My ancestors came from Telemark and NordMøre (75%) and Sweden 25%. Thanks a lot for a great collaborative website with a quality focus!

I would like to join the Early Scandinavia project. I am a naturalised Norwegian with a strong interest in Norwegian history. And I see that many of of the early Norwegian profiles could do with a bit of a polish and shine.

Good morning from Vermont, United States, where this morning it's no doubt colder than most locations in Scandinavia. I'd love to volunteer and help contribute to your project. I've been building Wikitree profiles for a few years now. In researching, I've often wanted to find a place to store information that is specific to a Nordic place (rather than person), so that others may use it to enhance their profiles. The categories you've created under your project are perfect for that. I pledge to do my best to follow conventions and will always carefully cite, observing copyright restriction. If to edit category profiles within your project I need additional authorization, please let me know.
