At work we're honoring Gloria Evangelina Anzaldúa (September 26, 1942 – May 15, 2004) as part of LGBT History Month in October. Her book Borderlands/La Frontera: The New Mestiza is loosely based on her life growing up on the Mexico/Texas border. She was a scholar who developed theories about the in-between cultures that develop along borders, and wrote extensively about queer people of color.
Her father is on the tree - let's add her mother and see if we can find a connection for her.
