If a profile already exists how do I add it to my family tree?

We don't have individual trees per se. If the profile is an orphan, you can adopt it, assuming you have access for the relevant time period. For example, to adopt a pre-1500 profile then you need pre-1500 certification. If the profile already has a manager, you can request to be added to the trusted list. Then you will receive notification of changes to the profile, or if someone comments on the profile, so you will have an opportunity to be alerted to potential relatives who are researching the same people.

To connect with your managed profile, hit edit, then-
Simply pick the correct place in your tree on a profile... will say add mother.....add father.... Etc...

When the form comes up at the top put in the Wikitree ID number of the existing profile and hit go!  Then hopefully you are connected into the larger tree, where we all collaborate on profiles that are open.  Hope you have fun with your ancestors and the many connections to be made here.

Thank you for the Star Howell.... if we can ever help with questions we are all here for you, like one big family.   You will find out we are most all connected and or even related !   Just FYI, it's always a good idea to message the Profile manager before adding family and let them know what you are up to and explain your source.....

You connect it. First you identify who is connected to him ie. child, sibling etc. and make sure you have the profile Id or sources for the person you wish to connect. Then go into edit page look down the right side, you will see add sibling (child etc) click and follow the prompts. Go back to original profile and return to profile view. Now you should be able to see the connection.
