Profile creation error

Question

Getting the following message: Duplicate ID error when creaeting profile for الخوري‎.

Essentially: The system doesn't like the use of the Arabic name for this individual. Oddly enough, the system is fine with other non-English individuals

Edit addition: This has happened on multiple occasions

As a further comment:
Any attempt to change the English/Western variation to the correct Arabic LNAB throws an Internal Error message

Has it go to do with the name only being half written as Arabic, the rest as English?

The fact that I'm using the appropriate Arabic names has nothing to do with the creation of profiles. Arabic certainly isn't the only non-English language that I've used when creating profiles. The whole with using the English name as the "preferred" and "CLN" is so that other users have an idea who the person is without getting confused.

The whole notion that it is a duplicate id... false. If profile creation had succeeded, it would have been the 4th to be under that surname and certainly not duplicated with anyone.

Perhaps try creating a duplicate profile, except this time with the surname "الخوري", and then merge the two profiles (selecting "الخوري" as the correct LNAB)?

I have thought of trying that but unfortunately it comes up with the Internal Error message requesting the contact of the WikiTree team

My advice would be to shoot the WikiTree team an email describing the issue and asking them to either manually change the surname to "الخوري" or to delete the "Khoury" profile so that you can create/use a new "الخوري" profile. I can't really think of any other solutions that you could use on your side. I just changed the surnames of a few of my Lebanese ancestors to their original arabic spelling, without any problems, so it is probably (as you have already mentioned) just a problem with this specific profile.

I actually can't create any profile which has a non-English lnab at this time, I keep getting the duplicate id error message

I've also initated a merge of the two profiles (note: since your the profile manager, you will need to accept it). The merge should change Bechara's LNAB.
