A gold mine for Quebec genealogy

I was recently digging through books in our family collection and I stumbled upon an absolute gem in genealogical information.

The book is called ''La petite histoire des Jérômiens''  and it provides genealogical information, photos from family albums as well as background information on about 150 families(educated guess) native of the town of Saint-Jérôme.

A great number of these families are not listed on wikitree and I think that is a shame!

If anyone is willing to help me out creating profiles for all these people, it would be very much appreciated.

Interesting, good that you have it in hand, since the link is to the BAnQ catalog, looks like a single copy is held at the Grande Bibliothèque downtown here in Montréal.  And with the situation corrently existing with Covid, can't go there to look at it.  The book isn't online as such.sad

That's a real bummer! Good thing I can start working on it on my own, but there's hundreds of hours worth of information in this book. There's no way i can do it on my own.

I hear you, one profile at a time, nobody's in any hurry.  wink

Perhaps someone would volunteer to do a page or two and you could send a shot of just that part to them. I found two profiles in Saint Jerome (using the new WikiTree+ Maps) and unfortunately neither has a profile manager.  But they could help you with a starting point for your own expoloration

Paquet-657 and Roi-51

Both died there.

Very good idea, I'm open to scanning a part of the book and sending it to someone that can help out.
