Ancestors who appear to be active members

Hello! this is a profile that apparently started as an active member and then ended up becoming an ancestor. However, they still show up as an active member in the surname list (Surname of Hinton). Is there a way an average user of WikiTree can fix these profiles when we come across them or does a Team member need to fix this?

Thanks!

Something is wrong. A man can not have been born in 1826 and died in 1906 then joined WikiTree in 2016, and still,  be editing his profile in 2018.

this was an active person profile originally and then turned into an ancestor at some point.
The bio says the person's name is Claudia. It looks like an editor used her ancestor's info instead of her own on her profile.
I saw that it started as Claudia, then was changed to Harles, and then to Charles.

This sometimes occurs with newer members that either merge an ancestor with their own profile, or do not fully understand the system and change their own profile into an ancestor.

It seems to be fixed now.

He still shows as living in the Hinton surname list
Yes, I see. 11 contributions. I don't know enough of the system to tell if that is still the case, or that the profile has been 'separated' from the living member again.

You could email the team and see if they can sort it out/tell you what happened.
