Writing up this profile I've concluded Rebecca is generally said to have married the wrong man.(Even HOP). Please check out the reasoning.

I think there is something wrong chronologically somewhere.

Even if Rebecca Chapman was only 14 or 15 when she married her first husband in 1637, then she is still going to be in her late forties when she marries her third husband in 1669, which makes it unlikely she would have had a daughter with him. Unless my maths is out?

Maybe both men named Richard Lucy married women with first name Rebecca and they have become confused?  Maybe Rebecca isn't the mother of Rowland Lytton's daughter?

OK - The Genealogist, new series, vol. 34, pp. 1-5 has a genealogy of the Chapman family and has Rebecca's marriages as per your research C.  The marriage to Rowland Lytton taking place in 1661 and their daughter born in 1662, when Rebecca would have been about 40, which is more reasonable.

It cites Baker's Northamptonshire, vol. 1, p. 554, which has Rebecca's monumental inscription (in Latin).

However the genealogy of the Chapman family doesn't mention anything about Jane's marriage to Richard Lucy, Baronet?

Thanks for the sources. The Chapman pedigree presents a problem with Playters Lucy (aged 25 in 1694) thus born about 1669 or after Rebecca Lytton 1662. Need to find the primary sources.
No longer a problem. Oxford alumni gives a DOB of 1660, the burial record says 1684 not 1694 as given in the Chapman pedigree.
