Ellen Acclom (Acclam) wife of Brian Palmes is the daughter of Richard Acclom (Acclam) and Margaret Cawood

Question

More then half the sources indicate that Ellen Acclom (Acclam) Palmes is the daughter of Richard Acclom (Acclam) and Margaret Cawood while a few indicate that John Acclom (Acclam) is. But Ellen is not the daughter of John Acclom (Acclam) because John is simply to young to be the father of Ellen.  According to the [https://archive.org/details/bub_gb_Ov8UAAAAQAAJ/page/n365/mode/2up Testamenta eboracensia, or Wills registered at York] Ellen Acclom (Acclam) married Brian Palmes in 1493 and according to [https://archive.org/details/calendarofinquis03great/page/356/mode/2up Great Britain Calendar of inquisitions post mortem and other analogous documents preserved in the Public Record Office] John Acclom (Acclam) was still just a kid in 1493.  There is no public record of any kind that says that there was a second John Acclom (Acclam) that is old enough to be Ellen’s father.

I propose that Ellen Acclom (Acclam) Palmes profile be attached to her parents Richard Acclom (Acclam) and Margaret Cawood profiles as their daughter.

I agree that Ellen Acclom can't be the daughter of the John Acclom cited in the inquistion post mortem of Richard Acclom and his wife Margaret as he is aged 19 in 1495 and the contract for her marriage is in 1493.

However I'm not seeing the definite proof that therefore she is the daughter of Richard Acclom and Margaret Cawood.  The various Visitations all have conflicting information, one of them stating that Richard Acclom's daughter Ellen married Marmaduke Thwaites, and Visitations aren't always the most reliable of sources.

Can I also add that we need to be careful about not applying our own standards to previous years.  Although John Acclom, at age 19 was definitely still a minor in 1495, he could easily have been married and had children at that age, just none old enough to be married themselves.

The only pedigree naming John as Ellen's father appears to be that of Joseph Foster.  However, pedigrees naming Richard as Ellen's father include Dugdale,https://archive.org/details/dugdalesvisitati03dugd/page/288/mode/2up

The fact that John Accom was 19 years old when Ellen was married in 1493 should eliminate the possibility that he was her father and leave Richard as Ellen's probable father.  

Another conroversy arises from the Flower pedigree which shows Richard's daughter Ellen as the wife of Thwayts.  That would be Marmaduke Thwaites who is shown in other pedigrees as married to another Ellen, the daughter of John Acclom.  Little significance should be given to the Flower pedigree, however, as it is followed by the notation:  "This pedigree had been seen to be so defective that Ralph Brooke inserted the Visitation of 1585 to correct it."

Therefore, it is most likely that Ellen was the daughter of Richard Acclom.  Please provide any further information that may be of relevance.
