Minnie Grinstead: educator, temperance leader, Baptist minister, and the first woman elected to the Kansas legislature (1918). And, nearly the first woman to be nominated for Vice President of the United States.
In 1920 she was an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention. In 1924 as a full delegate, she seconded the nomination of Calvin Coolidge. This remarkable woman declined to be nominated for Vice President of the United States in 1924.
