Looking for Cornelius Mitchell Martin in South Australia

Question

I am looking for the parents, grandparents and siblings of Cornelius Mitchell Martin.

He lived for most of his adult life in (Thames) New Zealand, and appears to have been born and died in Australia. I have just today found his probate record - which includes details from both NZ and Australia.

He worked as a Drycleaner, a Dyer (of clothes) and possibly also as a Tailor.

His son swore an affidavit that Cornelius died in Australia in 1960.

So if anyone can tell me his parents, grandparents and siblings, that would be wonderful.

That explains where that name came from.

I'm not sure I've got the correct marriage. Please take care.
 
I'm confident that the first statements above are accurate. Cornelius's family was resident in Kadina at the time of his baptism in 1873. His father was Nicholas Martin. His mother was Mary, but unfortunately her surname was not provided. Cornelius died in 1960 in Jamestown.

Unfortunately there's at least one other credible set of parents. A different Nicholas Martin married Mary Hunt, 1864, in Wallaroo, which is also near Kadina.

I think that what I've sent you about Nicholas's marriage to Mary Clarke is correct. If it is, Cornelius has 2 or 3 more siblings than I have named born at Canowie.
