Are Jamestown and James City the same location?

I have seen both locations listed and can't tell if they are the same.

What country and time period please?
Virginia - 1600's

James City is one if the eight original counties in Virginia.  Jamestown was a settlement within that county.  After the first few years of settlement, most of the people we call “Jamestown”  settlers actually lived in the surrounding area, divided in that time into “Hundreds,”  thus in James City County, not Jamestown.
