How to change LNAB back to Unknown; can merge be undone or does new merge need to be initiated?

On 8 Nov 2020 Victoria (Pierson) Crosley wrote on Rappaport-58:

Myron, Tamara's last name at birth is unknown, so there should not have been a merge. Rappaport is her married name. Her last name at birth should be corrected to Unknown, leaving her married name at Rappaport. A change of last name at birth can only be done by the profile manager. I'm not sure if you can do this by undoing the merge or not. It may take a new merge, as the Unknown-number may have been used for another person by now. If you are not sure about this, you can always move it to G2G for help.

The profile manager emailed me asking how to do this correction to LNAB.  I forwarded my comment to G2G, as I am not sure whether a reversal of the merge can be done.  Thanks in advance for your help!!

Since a merge cannot be reversed, the Profile Manager can go into Edit mode and change the Rappaport name to Unknown. She will be given a new Unknown ID number. PM should also be sure there are sources to support the lack of knowledge of her maiden name and her marriage.
