He was married to Violet May, maiden name unknown also from George. Violet had a sister Winnie & a brother but not sure of his name. They had 2 children, George Brian Minnie & Junette (Minnie) now Venter. They got divorced, date ?. Johannes married again & lived in Matatiele. He changed his surname from Minnie to Menne. Not sure why. He had 2 more children with his 2nd wife, Julian Menne & Colleen (Menne) Findlayson. He had 2 sisters that I know of called, Esther & Lenie. I was told that Johannes had a number of brothers as well. I had met some when I was about 7 & only remember them speaking Afrikaans. One brother’s name I remembered was Reuben. When I was travelling in the South Island of New Zealand I came across a head stone with the name of Reuben Minnie on it. This is was in Akaroa. My father said his grandparents on his father’s side were farmers in the George or Knysna area & they spoke ‘high Dutch’. That is all I know would love anyone who can help me out.
