query with richard fox

Question

my ancestor was richard-fox,born corton denham somerset england.I am struggling to get my head round these dates on find-my-past. can you help, it surely can/t be the same person.   Theres richard   baptised 15/7/1810 corton-denham, parents james/jane.     another richard  buried 13/1/1811 corton-denham,   also richard ,,baptised 23/2/1812  corton-denham,parents james/jane.    I beleive it to be james-fox/jane longman.    not 100/per/cent sure when and where james and jane are from, but beleive james was son of a john-fox.   regards helen.

my james fox born corton-denham-sherborne somerset,married jane longman born 1781 also corton denham,she died 1858 place unknown so far?...jane had a sister mary jane born abt 1772 died 1850 married james lamb,also corton-denham ? if you are linked to any of the above,please let me know,as i have no info on james and jane,,what they did and perhaps photos, regards h fox

Looking at the Somerset transcripts on Find my Past for Corton Denham, there is the baptism 15 July 1810 for Richard Fox the son of James and Jane then it would appear this Richard died and was buried 13 January 1811 as the son of James and Jane Fox.  

The next baptism on 23 February 1812 is for another son called Richard for parents James and Jane Fox.

Is it correct that this Richard married Betty Wise at Mells Somerset on 27 September 1840?  If so then his father is shown as James Fox, labourer on the marriage certificate.

It is not unheard of for a child to be named the same as a deceased sibling.

My 3rd great grandfather had a younger brother, Laurence Gill born 28 Nov 1759 who died young. The next son who was born two years later on 15 Nov 1761 was also named Laurence.

thanks so much ,having looked at what you said, then yes ,that does sound correct. richard baptised 15/7/1810, and buried 13/1/1811,  then along came his sibling richard baptised 23/2/1812, and married betty wise,   many thanks
