Adjusting the New Zealand, Mayors subcategories

Currently, each office is set as Mayors of [location]

I'm looking at setting these into the [location, theme] format in following with the convention set by the Categorization Project.

I'll use Auckland as an example. It could go one of two ways:

 1. Auckland, Mayors (just renaming the category into the theme)
 2. Auckland, New Zealand, Mayors (using our place structure as the location and then applying that to the rename)
The reason for the second option is that there are locations around the world which have the same name and so this would be to prevent any 'issues' with misplacement.

I prefer option 2 with the name of the place where the person was mayor and New Zealand. Great idea to have this updated. I have one mayor among my profiles still to be checked (I checking all my sources at present).

In the US, we just use the state , with the cities having subcategories so you could do it that way. Keep the Regions and the cities . Hope that helps.

It does, but I also want to wait and see what others think of this before any alterations take place

New Zealanders generally don't think in terms of regions unless they are talking about football; so Auckland, New Zealand, Mayors (using our place structure as the location and then applying that to the rename) makes it possible to include the cats. for mayors in a new, needed top category for New Zealand, Local Government.

At the moment New Zealand, Mayors is filed among New Zealand, Politicians which, from a uniquely N.Z. perspective, would be better reserved for central government.

Having cats. eg. Auckland, New Zealand, Mayors makes them available in the development of a local one place study.

Wikipedia placenames are unique. Why not standardise on them? Familypedia decided to do that a decade ago.
