Don't forget the importance of writing your own story

We all become a little bit obsessed with tracing the lives of our Ancestors and why not? That's exactly what Family History is all about. Recently I asked my kids a few questions about me (I say kids, they are 29 and 26), what was my first job? Where did I go to School and they struggled, they didn't know. So I decided there and then to start to write my own story.

Part 1 is here

Paul, I was so impressed with your wonderful Story, and you have fabulous photos. Hope you will enjoy working on WikiTree and keep sharing your story, photos and ancestors.
I love this idea!
Thank you so much Alexis, that really is so kind of you to say that and very much appreciated.
Thanks Rob, I hope this gives you the inspiration to give it a try yourself, if you do, make sure you let us know on here!
Hi Paul, I've started. Protected profiles are being generated telling the story of the early years, to be revealed after I'm long gone and unable to be embarrassed by them. :)

What can I say, it was the 70's.
The first step is the hardest, so it can only get easier form this point forwards. Your secrets safe with me.

My great-grandfather and great-grandmother did just that (https://www.wikitree.com/wiki/Space:Autobiography_of_Claude_C_Crawford) and my Grandfather said he always wished he had. I think this is a great idea. What questions are you using as prompts? Do you have a list somewhere?

Hi Jonathan, thanks for your reply, I am not using any prompts as such, but wanted to break my story down into manageable bite size chunks. Birth to leaving School, first years after school and first job, early marriage years and when the children were small, mid-life and finally bring it bang up to date
