Posters have listed a woman who was born, lived, married and died in Gloucester, Massachusetts as the wife of my 5th great grandfather John Crysdale. However John Crysdale was born 1745 in England and came to America in 1772 with his wife and children. The eldest known child was Thomas born 1768 in England but there were possibly others born there. All other children are known but only the birth years of Isabella born 1779 in Charlotte County, New York; Catherine born 1782 in Sorel, Quebec; Rebecca b 1785 in Upper Canada and Joshua born 1790 in Upper Canada are known. The exact birth years of Elsie and Nancy are unknown.

Rebecca Ingersoll b 1749 of Gloucester, Massachusetts married Sargent Ingersoll of the same place 15 Nov 1774. This woman was still living in Gloucester in 1820! I am amazed that someone would believe it is the same person who married John Crysdale and had children in England.
