Add existing background image on free space profile [closed]

My problem is, I want to add an existing background image to my free space profile. In the help documents it says, "To make this the background image for any profile, click to the profile's edit page and enter X under 'Background Image'. The problem is, on free space profiles, there seems to be no such place to enter "background image." It just doesn't exist.

To complicate my question a bit, all I really want to do is change the background color to give my related free space pages a unique look. It would be great if we could just change the color. But I am okay with doing this with a single-color jpeg. Just don't know how to do it without uploading the same jpeg several times.

You can see where I've done this:

It works in reverse.  You add the space page TO the image.
Thank you, Melanie.

I was hoping to not have to do this, as then I end up with this square of color on the side bar which is very unattractive and is meaningless to page visitors. But if there is no other way, then I will have to figure something else out.

I keep a space page just for images, so when I add one as background to a profile, I can remove it again and the image stays on the profile.  Leonard has a background image, but it's not on the sidebar.

If you don't want to do that, I'd be happy to stick your image on my space page.  (That would allow others to also use it.)
Thank you, Melanie. That idea hadn't crossed my mind. I will try that.
